Abstract
Radioactive 117Cd was implanted in beryllium single crystal along the (0001) and 〈0001〉 crystal directions. Two different quadrupole interaction frequencies for the 117In probe nuclei formed in the decay of 117Cd were observed. It is suggested that implantation along (0001) channels the probe nuclei to the tetrahedral interstitial site while implantation along the 〈0001〉 direction may force the impurity to occupy substitutional sites.
