Abstract

Slow frequency hopped packet radio networks with a selective reject retransmission policy are considered. Each packet consists of different subpackets (codewords), and only those specific subpackets which were received in error are retransmitted. Closed form expressions for subpacket error probabilities are derived for both slotted and unslotted packet radio networks. It is concluded that, using a special packet constructions method together with selective reject retransmission policy, the throughput of asynchronous frequency hopped packet radio networks approaches the throughout of the corresponding synchronous systems.
