Abstract

The interest in selective surfaces for the photothermal conversion of solar energy is demonstrated. The various physical phenomena which lead to the spectral selectivity are briefly investigated. The different criteria which may be considered at the time of choosing a selective surface are described. Finally some of the results obtained with materials like black chrome and amorphous carbon are described and discussed.
