Abstract

This report introduces an intermediate step between the conservative treatment of stress ulcers in children, and the surgical management of this condition. It is the selective instillation of vasopressin into the celiac axis or one of its branches. It should be employed as a diagnostic and therapeutic modality in those children who do not respond to conservative measures, unless further experience indicates an unacceptable failure or complication rate. Our case illustrates the effectiveness of this technique.
