Abstract

Herein, we report a general and eco-friendly electrochemical method for the selective thiocyanation/selenocyanation of C(sp3)-H and C(sp2)-H bonds in nitrogen-containing compounds under exogenous oxidant-free conditions. This is the first example of selective thiocyanation based on a nitrogen-containing compound with excellent regional principles and chemical selectivity for different reaction sites. This convenient and practical protocol has considerable potential for the modification of important structural backbones.
