Abstract

An analytic expression is derived that relates the number of measurements, the ratio between the random and systematic error components, and the gain in accuracy. Conditions are found for obtaining the desired gain in accuracy provided by repeated measurements and for improving the gain estimation accuracy in the presence of nonexcluded systematic and random error components.
