Abstract

Objective To select the surgical methods for posterior column fracture of tibial plateau and analyze the clinical curative effect. Methods By the random number table method, 60 patients with posterior column fracture of tibial plateau were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. The observation group was treated by anterior combined with posterior internal fixation while the control group was treated by anterior internal fixation. The perioperative indexes (hospitalization time, appearance time of callus, fracture healing time) and changes of knee joint function (HSS) were observed and compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in hospitalization time between the two groups (P>0.05). The appearance time of callus, fracture healing time of observation group were significantly shorter than those of control group (P<0.05). The postoperative HSS scores of the two groups were significantly higher than those before operation. Besides, 3, 6 and 12 months after operation, HSS scores of observation group were significantly higher than those of control group (P<0.05). Conclusions Because of the particular anatomical structure of posterior column fracture of tibial plateau, different surgical methods have different effect on recovery of knee joint function, of which anterior combined with posterior approach internal fixation has more advantages in the treatment of patients with posterior column fracture of tibial plateau. Key words: Posterior column fracture of tibial plateau; Surgical method; Clinical curative effect
