Abstract

The manufacturing efficiency resulting from production design by a reduced program is considered. In a reduced program, the production design is based on a small number of representative parts, rather than all of the parts within the specified program. A method is recommended for dividing the parts corresponding to the specified program into groups and selecting a representative part for each group. The representative part is best chosen as an aggregate part reflecting the maximum characteristics and constraints relevant to all the parts in the group.
