Abstract

Abstract The paper analyses the energy-saving building – kindergarten in Zloty Potok. The project was analysed in terms of energy efficiency and meeting the requirements of the passive building. The results of this analysis showed that the building does not meet all of the criteria for a passive building. The next study was a survey of the tenants of the facility. The results obtained from the conducted research indicate very good building assessments. Users are satisfied and feel the comfort of staying in the building. It should be concluded that objects that have not obtained a passive building certificate, but are built in accordance with the passive construction concept, still show very high standards of energy-efficient construction and enjoy the recognition of users. The fulfilment of higher guidelines for thermal insulation and air tightness than those set out in the applicable Polish regulations result in better energy-saving parameters and user satisfaction. At the same time, the research revealed a contradiction between the passive housing guidelines and Polish legislation, especially in correlation with pre-school buildings.
