Abstract

Summary Familial Mediterranean fever is an autosomal recessive disease with recurrent symptoms. Turkish people may have a prevalence of approximately one case per 1000 population. Generally occurs during the during childhood but can also be seen in later years of life. The reproductive system may also be affected since familial Mediterranean fever is a multisystemic disorder. Therefore it should be included in the evaluation of secondary amenorrhea in childhood.
