Abstract
Tjong Sce Yin (founder of the first music school in Medan) and Tjong A Fie Mansion (the first school house in Medan) with the name of Medan Music School renamed the Pure Music Institute (LMM) and now renamed the Conservatory Music Medan. In addition to the above three things, also can not be separated from some non-formal music education institutions that organize classical music education in Medan that is Melody Music Studio (Musical Field), Musika Era, Music Rhythm and Institute of Music Education (LPM) Farabi Medan .

PEMBAHASAN Ada beberapa lembaga pendidikan musik non formal yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan musik klasik di Medan adalah Lembaga Musik Murni (LMM), Melody Musik Studio (Medan Musik), Era Musika, Irama Musik dan Lembaga Pendidikan Musik (LPM) Farabi Medan.
Baik Tjong Sce Yin maupun Tjong A Fie Mansion ini sangat lekat musik klasik di Medan dan etnis Cina.
Bekerjasama dengan beberapa guru seperti Mrs Hoogendorp, Mrs Nijs, Mrs Jongbloed, Mrs Kalsbeek, Mr Boris Maria, Pendeta De Jong serta dibantu oleh asisten Khu Su Yok, Loh Soon Ong, Loh Soon Ee, didirikanlah Sticting Medan Music School oleh Mrs See Yin Lemye-Tjong pada tanggal 1 Agustus 1949 di Medan, yang pada waktu itu mengambil lokasi sementara di rumah almarhum ayahnya Tjong A Fie. Sticting Medan Music School berganti nama menjadi Lembaga Musik Murni (LMM) dan berpindah tempat di Jalan Mahoni No 12 Medan, setelah hampir 10 tahun beraktifitas di Tjong A Fie Mansion.
