On May 12, 2008, a magnitude 8.0 earthquake hit Wenchuan Country, Sichuan Province, resulted in abundant landslides and slope failures were triggered. Besides, a lot of slopes were instability and needs corresponding treatment to reinforcement, especially in some important scenic spots in Sichuan. Leshan Giant Buddha scenic spot is one of the best scenic spots in China. Instable rock slope induced by earthquake is on the cliff of Wuyou Mountain near to Wuyou temple in Leshan Giant Buddha scenic spot. Instable rock slope seriously threatened the safety of some important scenery in Leshan Giant Buddha, such as the provincial unit in preservation of cultural relics of “Meander Core”, the “eyelash” of the giant sleeping Buddha, Jingyun pavilion and the words “Mainstay” that is inscribed on the rock slope. So, investigation, surveying and probing technology, combined with stereographic projection were used to study on topographical and geological condition of the site. Base on above results, we analyzed the stability of the rock slope. At last, taking the anchor as the principal project, drainage and inlays as auxiliary project was proposed to stability the rock slope.
