Abstract

ABSTRACT The seismic performance of a two-story building was investigated through a small-scaled quasi-static test. The test results show that the bolt-assembled PC panel building system can present reliable structural integrity, including transferring shear action and performing deformation ability. Based on the results, the failure mode and force-transfer mechanisms of the system were discussed and a modified design model was proposed to calculate the resistant capacity of bolt joints based on the current design code. The paper pointed out that the drift limits suggested in the current code may not suitable for evaluating the damage state of the system.
