Abstract
Continuing a recovery trend which began during the second quarter of 1976 (Figure 1), the total number of domestic seismic oil exploration crews and vessels (315) is the highest figure since October 1974 (320). Despite the increase, the total is less than half the 700 seismic crews and vessels active in the U.S. in the peak exploration period of 1952–53.
