Abstract

An experimental study was conducted on a reduced-scale masonry in filled RC test frame to investigate its overall performance due to the addition of monolithic RCC strips in the in-filled bays and retrofitting the places where cracks found. One reinforced concrete (RC) was tested under slow-cyclic lateral loading. The addition of monolithic RCC strips and Ferro-cement retrofitting improved the damage tolerance, lateral load resisting capacity, stiffness, ductility, and energy dissipation of the frame. Diagonal crushing of brickwork was eliminated by placing monolithic RCC strips in the infill bays.
