Abstract
Test matings of Regional Poultry Research Laboratory inbred chicken line 15 B with lines 7 2 and 6 3 showed that chicken endogenous virus ( ev) locus 7, which specifies structural genes for a replication defective, inducible leukosis virus (15 B-ILV), segregates with the male (Z) chromosome. In a separate investigation, locus ev12, which is characteristic of RPEL line 15 1, appears to be associated with an infectious subgroup E virus.
