Abstract

Graded reflectance micro-mirror arrays (GRMMA) have been fabricated by simultaneous deposition of up to 1250 miniaturized dielectric graded reflectance mirrors (GRM) (diameters <400 mu m). Segmented, self-imaging unstable positive branch resonator configurations including GRMMA have been tested successfully with flashlamp-pumped Nd:glass rod lasers. Matrix shaped supermodes have been generated by adjusting the resonator round trip length to match the n=4 Talbot distance. The far field consists of 200 distinct but phase-correlated beamlets.
