Abstract

In the continuing advance of science and technology in geophysics, it is good to know that intelligent and excited students are preparing themselves for a bright future. Nowhere was this more evident than at the 49th International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), 10-16 May 1998, in Fort Worth, Texas. Students from the United States and 29 other countries presented 940 projects. The ISEF brings together first-place winners from local and regional science fairs from around the world. In this competition, students demonstrate and explain their projects to teams of judges and the public.
