Abstract

Last month, Bud Doodle (a recently converted member of the SEG digerati) clicked on his World Wide Web browser to visit the SEG Home Page. After looking over the “Graphic of the Day” (a migrated seismic section from the Gulf of Mexico), he skimmed “This Month in Geophysics” (which actually turned out to be next month) and news about the next Annual Meeting before going on to his favorite page, Member Search. “Whatever happened to Joe,” he pondered. He quickly located his old colleague via an on‐line search and noted that Joe now had an email address. Since he well remembered many of Joe’s vows about never succumbing to this “new fangled” technology, this was met with a certain satisfaction.
