Abstract

Productivity of seed orchards continues to be inadequate and flowering research has not produced much results of practical use. This has led to a decline in interest and in funding of flowering research. However a breakthrough appears in sight, associated with application of techniques used by pomologists, choice of better seed orchard sites and control of the physical environment in indoor orchards.
