Security of fragile watermarking scheme for image authentication

Abstract

Recently, Lu et al. proposed a fragile watermarking scheme to prevent the quantization attack. However, the present study shows that the modified scheme's objective as a fragile watermark is unfortunately lost, because it is possible for any attacker to copy a watermark from one image into another without knowing the watermark owner's insertion keys.
