Abstract

This paper is part of a comprehensive study the main author is currently involved. Although being a major research theme in the last decade, the security aspects of the Vehicular Communications Environment requires further effort in terms of standardization and implementation. Beginning with the security aspects implied in the classical Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks, to the ones in the new Internet of Vehicles evolving concept, as a part of the Internet of Things, all of them are still in research. Classical approaches all have benefits and weakness, but still, even though there are standards in this domain (IEEE 1609 suite, ETSI ITS G5), there is still a lot of progress to be made.
