Abstract

In this paper, a confidential communication scenario is considered through composite Nakagami-m fading channel with log-normal shadowing in which a source communicates with a destination in the presence of an eavesdropper. Our study is concerned with the analysis of secrecy capacity and secure outage performance of Nakagami-m fading channel with shadowing. The performance of the proposed model is analyzed based on the closed-form expressions of the ergodic secrecy capacity, the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity and the secure outage probability using the Gauss-Hermite quadrature integration formula. Analytical results show that the shadowing effect significantly enhances the ergodic secrecy capacity of the proposed model.
