Abstract
Internet of things (IoT) integrates devices, data, and applications by utilizing internet protocols. IoT applications are used for information gathering, sharing, and dissemination of data. As a result, there is a significant increase in the number of installed IoT devices in recent years, as many sectors in society are implementing IoT applications in their network. The rate at which these devices are developed and installed is faster than the rate at which policies and standards are introduced to protect the devices from security threats. To preserve a secure network with installed IoT devices, it is important to be informed about the security specifications of the device. The main purpose of writing this paper is to provide consumers, security administrators, and future IoT developers with the basic information about security threats and measures in an IoT network. The survey covers topics such as IoT market, security architecture, security threats, and security measures.
