Abstract

Game theory is a useful tool to model and analyze decision problems. In this paper, we use a novel game model, mean field game, to solve the security problem in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs). The mean field game model can provide a powerful mathematical tool for problems with a large number of players. To be best of our knowledge, using mean field game theory for security in VANETs has not been considered in existing works. The proposed scheme can enable an individual vehicle in VANETs to make strategic security defence decisions without centralized administration. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
