Abstract

This article describes a protocol for the treatment of eating disorders designed to increase the likelihood of client cooperation in the therapeutic process. The client and therapist collaborate in the design of an effective treatment strategy focused on client needs, goals, and readiness. The protocol has four focus areas: Eating Habits, Body Image, Personal/Family Issues, and Wellness. Within each area, therapeutic interventions are grouped at three levels: (1) information, (2) activities for self-awareness, and (3) activities for change.
