Abstract

Virtualization is a technology which helps the users to access the cloud services. Virtual machine gives the abstract view of the physical machine. User can utilize the services from the cloud provider by requesting the virtual machine. Migration of Virtual machine is required when the load increases, insufficient resources or any problem with the physical systems such as server crash. It is not been given much importance towards securing virtual machine at migration. Most of the research is carried out in the area of load balancing, energy efficiency and very minor interest is shown in the direction of security of virtual machines. Many techniques have been implemented to secure the data but proper access control mechanisms, integrity and confidentiality of Virtual machines are not taken care during migration. Hence, this paper addresses all of these security parameters. Secure Virtual machine migration method is implemented in this paper in order to migrate a Virtual machine from one data center to another data center with considerations of security parameters such as authentication, access control, confidentiality and integrity.
