Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), which have been widely used in many areas, are highly susceptible to external attacks. Therefore, it is essential to develop a secure way to aggregate the data in WSNs. In this paper, a secure data aggregation algorithm based on trust (SDABT) is proposed to improve the security of WSNs. The cluster head determines the comprehensive trust of the ordinary node which is composed of communication trust, data trust and energy trust. Then, the comprehensive trust is used to identify the malicious node and used as weight to aggregate the intra-cluster data. The base station aggregates the data from cluster heads in a similar way. To verify the performance of SDABT, the simulation compares it with the traditional arithmetic mean algorithm, and the result shows that SDABT has significantly smaller mean-square error (MSE).
