Since its introduction in 2004, natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) has attracted the interest of many clinicians and researchers and demonstrated technical feasibility and efficacy when used in various types of intra-abdominal operations, including transgastric liver biopsy, cholecystectomy, tubal ligation, and peritoneoscopy.
