Abstract

The integration of Cyber-Physical systems (CPS) in production environments promises an increased flexibility, possibilities to retrofit existing field devices and to overcome the dependence towards one hardware provider. Encapsulating software components as apps, which are configured to the current needs, can make use of these advantages. Such an eco-system where software components are distributed by app stores and origin, as well as the hardware basis itself, from different vendors poses new challenges towards security. The paper extends an existing eco-system by collecting requirements regarding security. Finally, a security concept is presented as well as the resulting extensions to the framework.
