Abstract

AbstractThis study employs a flexible econometric framework using a panel data set to model employment trends and behavior by sector and occupation in the Greek labor market. By applying mixed fixed and random coefficient techniques, this paper analyzes the impact of certain variables on employment by occupational category across the sectors of economic activities, projecting occupational trends. Using annual data from 2000 to 2018, we examine the effects of compensation, gross value added, unemployment, and a proxy for participation rate on workers’ share by sector and occupation. Research findings reveal that the explanatory variables’ elasticities vary widely across sectors and occupational categories.
