Abstract

This chapter contains selected sources related to Islamic traditions, Muslim women and the reform movement. It presents sources related to women in the discourse of the ṣufīs, women's image in ṣufī literature, women in the reformist (iṣlāẖī) traditions in the 18th and the19th centuries, modernist reform movements and women's issues, men in support of women's rights, south Asian Muslim women compared with women in other regions, women claiming their rights.
