Secret image sharing using eigenvalues and eigenvectors

Abstract

Steganography is one of the technique used for hiding secret information into another media safely. The main purpose of steganography is establishing covert communication between two authorized users. Many data hiding steganography techniques are available in literature. However, their embedding capacity is very low. Image hiding steganography techniques are also available, their work is very well in terms of embedding capacity. However, they cannot reconstruct the secret information and qualities of stego images are degraded. Inspired by the practical requirement, A secret image sharing using steganographic technique is presented here. In proposed method, the secret image is embedded into cover image based on Eigen values and Eigen vectors to form a stego image. Stego image is visually looks like a cover image and it conceals the secret information. The qualities of stego images are assed by various image quality metrics. The proposed method is efficient in terms of quality and embedding capacity compared to existing methods.
