Abstract

Energy and angular distributions of secondary ions emitted during alkali ion bombardment of aluminium and copper single crystals have been measured. For the angular distributions preferred directions were obtained, which can be correlated with low-indexed crystal orientations. For these orientations noticeable variations in the energy spectrum of the secondary ions were found for aluminium also. The results can be satisfactorily interpreted on the basis of the model of focusing collision sequences.
