Abstract

For stand-testing prototypes of superconducting magnets, the UNK fabricated a satellite refrigerator (SR) consisting of industrial heat exchangers (HE) [i]. Since all the cryogenic helium units at the UNK contain similar HE, SR [2] and two HE fabricated at the Scientific Production Combine Kriogenmash were experimentally studied. It was established that calculations using RTM (Important Technical Materials) 26-04-76 without evaluating the influence of secondary effects on HE efficiency when designing high-efficiency equipment may lead to significant errors.
