Abstract
Secondary bistable solitons have been calculated for a non-linear optical inhomogeneous medium with parabolic gradient index and quadratic intensity-dependent refractive index change. The remarkable effect of inhomogeneities on the existence and stability of bistable solitons has been studied. The results obtained are compared with those from homogeneous solitons.
