Abstract
The Biochemical Society was one of the sponsors of the Second Rothamsted International BioMarket on ‘Bioproducts from Plants and Microbes’ which was held at IACR-Rothamsted on 7–9 November 2001. The aim of this biopartnering event was to bring together those interested in commercializing products and services based in plants and microbes. It was attended by research entrepreneurs from the private and public sectors, industrial liaison officers, intellectual property experts, financiers and others interested in the emerging business global opportunities for bioproducts. Some 23 countries were represented.
