Abstract

The present results show that some SLAID share the property of free radical scavenging. The effect is not quantitatively similar using the synthetic radical DPPHL and PMN-produced superoxide, but in qualitative terms the effects may all be explained by the simple electron donor function of these compounds. Levamisole was capable of reducing superoxide but not DPPHL, indicating a possible conversion by canine PMN of levamisole to OMPI, the antioxidant metabolite of levamisole.
