Abstract
AbstractThe components of the nonlinear optical susceptibility tensor [dijk SHG] (SHG tensor) of the melilite‐type tetragonal germanate Ba2MgGe2O7, that allows phase matched second harmonic generation and sum frequency generation in a wide spectral range, were determined using the Maker fringes method. The values of the components amount about one third of d36SHG of KH2PO4 (KDP). Effective nonlinear susceptibilities for SHG phase matching directions are given for different wavelengths.
