Abstract

Stacked 2D Materials Stacked two-dimensional materials are achieved and analyzed in a surface science approach: Hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) is formed on Pt(111) by the thermal decomposition of molecular precursor ammonia borane. A temporary Pt film deposited on h-BN serves as the platform for subsequent graphene growth using ethylene. The intercalation of the film through h-BN results in the desired van der Waals stacking. More details can be found in article 2102747 by Jörg Kröger and co-workers.
