Abstract

The number, quality, and intensity of biotic interactions within marine benthic communities are known to vary from place to place, especially from one climatic zone to another. even when communities from similar ranges of habitats are compared. Such variations may have many causes, but in this chapter I would like to concentrate on one class of causes that may be of particular importance: those that are associated with seasonality.
