Abstract

Movements of harbor porpoises in the Bay of Fundy were studied from observations of Cetacea by the watch-keeping officers of three daily ferries from December of 1965 to November of 1966. Definite movements were shown with porpoises abundant only in July, August, and September. The inward migration in late June and July was farther off shore than September movement out of the Bay. Porpoises moved in larger groups in autumn than in the spring. A small overwintering population remained in the Bay all year round.
