Abstract
Studies on seasonal incidence, damage intensity and management of leaf folder, Orphanostigma abruptalis on Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum) revealed that the pest population was at its peak (4.4 larvae per plant) during 46th standard week of 2020 and the population started declining from 47th standard week of 2020. The damage intensity of leaf folder was assessed by comparing the yield of fresh herbage in treated and untreated plots at 90 DAT. In prophenophos 50 EC @ 1 ml/lit treated plot yield was 5755.5 Kg ha-1 whereas in untreated plot yield obtained was 5465.5 kg ha-1. The per cent herbage yield loss of 5.03% was recorded in untreated plot as compared to treated plot. Maximum mean number of larvae population of 5.0 per plant untreated plot. The highest protection was recorded in t T5 - Azadirachtin 1500 ppm, 4 ml/l (41.75) followed by T2 - NSKE 5% (39.93), T3 - Neem oil 2% (37.45), T4 - Karanj oil 2% (36.51), Whereas, least per cent control after spray at 14thday was recorded in T1 - Verticillium lecanii @ 4 ml/l (22.33) followed by T6 - Castor oil 2% (25.09).
