Abstract

Data from the 1988 and 1989 runs of the CERN pp̄ Collider have been analysed to look for charged current decays of the top quark. A lower limit of 67(70) GeV at the 95(90)% confidence level has been set for the top mass. A similar analysis for a light fourth generation quark (the b′) gives a lower limit of 53(56) GeV at the 95(90)% confidence level.
