Abstract

An anomaly with width Γ = 10 ± 3 keV has been observed in the excitation functions for 6Li + d reactions at an excitation energy in 8Be of 27.483 ± 0.010 MeV. It is interpreted as being due to the isospin forbidden excitation of the lowest T = 2 state f 8Be.
