Abstract

A total of 94269 unfiltered CCD observations for 16 of the brightest galactic Cepheids, obtained by the SMEI instrument, were reduced with the Hertzsprung method to define individual times of light maxima. Then O-C residuals for all of 16 Cepheids were analyzed with the Eddington-Plakidis method and random fluctuations in periods for four of them, SU Cas (P=1d.95), δ Cep (P=5d.37), κ Pav (P=9d.09), and α UMi (P=3d.97) were detected. Such fluctuations for short period Cepheids are found for the first time. O-C diagrams as well as results of the Eddington-Plakidis test are presented.
