Abstract

An interesting special solution to the neutrino mass problem is obtained with one family of standard and mirror fermions in the 27 + 27 of E 6, whereby the ordinary neutrino becomesultralight via a generalized see-saw mass mechanism with no high energy scale. Total lepton number is conserved leading to Dirac neutrinos, and universality of the ordinary quark and lepton couplings is assured to high accuracy.
