Menez, Ernani G., Ronald C. Phillips, and Hilconida P. Calumpong. Seagrasses from the Philippines. Smithsonian Contributions to the Marine Sciences, number 21, 40 pages, 26 figures, 1983.—Seagrasses were collected from various islands in the Philippines during 1978-1982. A total of 12 species in seven genera are recorded. Generic and specific keys, based on vegetative characters, are provided for easier differentiation of the seagrasses. General discussions of seagrass biology, ecology, collection and preservation are presented. Local and world distribution of Philippine seagrasses are also included. OFFICIAL PUBLICATION DATE is handstamped in a limited number of initial copies and is recorded in the Institution's annual report, Smithsonian Year.
