Abstract

This study investigates the influence of some SEA parameters to predict the sound response by structural modification in plate structures. A simple system is used that consists of two flat plates connected in an L-shaped configuration with one cavity. Three kinds of structural modification are prepared, internal loss factor, plate thickness, and stiffness. For two SEA models, one is used with predicted input power by structural modification and original loss factors, another is used with predicted input power of original model and loss factors by structural modification being taken into consideration, are calculated by analytical SEA and FEM based SEA. As a result, it can be seen that the sound pressure level values for the SEA model using the predicted input power of original model and the loss factors by structural modification are overestimated.
