Abstract

We analyze one year (November 1986 – November 1987) of GEOSAT altimetric data to obtain the sea level variability in the Southwest Atlantic (20S–55S, 60W–30W). Then we compare this variability with the dynamic height variability computed from historical hydrographic data, and we provide some tentative dynamical interpretations.
